Oak cased longcase clock 8 day movement by Hancock of Yeovil
late Georgian/Early Victoria oak longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the painted dial with subsidiary seconds and inset date wheel is inscribed 'Hancock of Yeovil'; There are 2 Hancock’s mentioned in the 1844 Pigot & Co.'s Directory Somerset. I suspect this is by James Hancock of Middle Street,Yeovil
The hood with swan neck pediment, glazed door flanked by turned columns, the trunk door with an arched top, the lower part of the case has is inlayed with Mahogany, with pendulum, two weights and winder.
The movement has been recently services and is in perfect working order
