A late 18th Century Longcase clock by Charles Goode of London.
The clock has a mahogany and oak inlaid case with a shell inlaid pattern to the main door, the hood is also in mahogany with a broken swan necked pediment above 2 wooden columns flanking the glass fronted door.
The face is round in brass with a silvered chapter ring, supplementary silvered second dial and a silvered circular plaque inscribed Charles Goode London. The movement is eight-day striking the hour to a bell, complete with pendulum and weights and has recently been fully serviced.
Charles Goode was a well-respected maker of longcase and bracket clocks operating throughout much of the so-called 'Golden Age' of English horology. He was made free of the Clockmakers Company in 1686 and is thought to have died circa 1730.
