H.A.C. 14 day Striking Mantel Clock 

Wooden 14 Day Strike Mantel Clock made in Württemberg. The clock has an ornate wood casing and the face has Roman numerals with a pattern between each number and two crossed arrows in the middle. 

 

There is a clasp for the door and inside labels showing H.A.C. 14 Day Strike made in Württemberg - no. 3187. 

 

There is an inscription: 

Birmingham City Police - Presented by the officers and constables of the D Division. 

PCJ Watson On his retirement from the force Dec 1905 after on his retirement after 25 years’ 

 

The clock has recently been serviced and in working order.

HAC Company founded in 1883 from the partnership of Paul Landenberger and Philip Lang in Schramberg. Originally called Landenberger and Lang, became the Hamburg Amerikanische Uhrenfabrik in 1891. Landenberger previously worked as business manager for Junghans (q.v.). In 1930 the HAC merged with Junghans. The trademark of two crossed arrows was registers in 1892. 

 

The clock comes with a pendulum and a key.
