Oak cased longcase clock 8 day movement Halifax
A beautiful Long case clock from R Skirrow of Halifax, dating from the first half of the 19th Century. The case is made from a combination of Oak and Mahogany with inlaid detailing to the front. The hood is topped with a swan necked pediment the door being flanked to wooded pillars supported at each end by brass fittings. The dial is 13" and hand painted with a farming scene, also showing a ruined church to the top and other buildings to the corners the dial itself has Roman numerals and a subsidiary dials for seconds and day of month.
The seconds dial is working however the day of month dial is not. The movement is 8 day striking a bell on the hour and has been recently serviced.
The clock is complete with 2 weights and pendulum
